BEREA, Ohio – The Browns have a game plan to manage “Manzielmania” this summer. Expecting huge crowds to see rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel compete with Brian Hoyer for the starting job, the Browns want fans to register online to attend training camp. Cleveland can accommodate only about 5,000 fans at its facility. Browns President Alec Scheiner told The Associated Press the team will ask fans to sign up beforehand so “we dont turn away 2,000 or 3,000 fans who just show up.” Scheiner said the team will announce when capacity is reached, but fans can still come and wait to get in. The team is working out final details of the registration. Camp will remain free. Manziels arrival has created a buzz around the Browns, who moved up in the first round of the NFL draft to select the celebrated Heisman Trophy winner who hangs out with rapper Drake and has NBA superstar LeBron James as a business partner. Scheiner said the Browns season-ticket base has grown by more than 4,000 since Manziel was picked. His No. 2 jersey is on store shelves in the Cleveland area and is already one of the leagues top sellers before he has played in a game. Manziel is currently behind Hoyer on the depth chart, and theres no guarantee hell move up when the season starts. But that wont stop fans from flocking to see Johnny Football, who caused a stir last weekend by taking a trip to Las Vegas. Manziel was in Los Angeles on Friday with 34 other rookies to attend a rookie symposium run by the players union. The Browns set attendance records at training camp last year and Scheiner anticipates this years crowds to be “a little bit better.” “Its exciting, and its fun,” he said. “Were getting better.” Scheiner, who spent eight years with the Dallas Cowboys before he was hired by Cleveland after the 2012 season, said the Browns have begun looking into moving their camp to a college campus. The team previously trained at Bowling Green (1946-51), Hiram (1952-74), Kent State (1975-81) and Lakeland Community College (1982-91) before holding camp in Berea, the year-round training headquarters. Scheiner points to the many challenges in moving training camp, including transportation costs, getting practice fields up to NFL specifications as well as housing. “Well look at it,” he said. “If theres something that makes sense, well look at it. If theres not, we wont. But were going to start looking at it carefully.” If the Browns do move camp, Scheiner expects the new site to be within driving distance of Cleveland. Last year, the Browns drew 56,306 fans to their 13 open practices at the training facility and a family night session at FirstEnergy Stadium. They averaged 2,475 fans per practice in Berea and set a one-day record of 4,466. Marcus Peters Chiefs Jersey. In his first 13 starts last season — his first in the major leagues — the left-hander was 8-5 with a 2.85 ERA. This was the ninth time this year that Ryu has allowed fewer than three earned runs, and he is 7-0 in those games. Mitch Morse Chiefs Jersey. The mixed zone is not a place to make friends. BALTIMORE — Orioles slugger Chris Davis has tried just about everything to break out of lengthy hitting slump. Extra batting practice and intensive video study havent worked. Maybe a seat in the dugout will help the Baltimore star come up with the solution. Davis wasnt in the starting lineup Monday night against the Chicago White Sox. Manager Buck Showalter explained the move as simply an effort to get Delmon Young some playing time, but Davis knew better. He attributed the benching to his lack of hitting this month. “Thats pretty evident,” Davis said. “Its about putting the best nine out there every game, giving yourself a chance to win, and lately I just havent been very good.” Davis is batting .216 with 12 homers and 37 RBIs. Over his previous 14 games, he was 7 for 54 (.130). Last year, Davis hit .286 and led the majors with 53 home runs and 138 RBIs. “If youd have asked me in the off-season or during spring training if I thought I was going to struggle like Im doing this year, Id have told you that you were crazy,” Davis said. Of the day off, he said, “Maybe it will give me a chance to clear my head.” Davis misery this season began in earnest with an oblique injury that put him on the disabled list. That, however, is not an issue in his current struggle. “Im trying to figure it out. I know its frustrating for people to watch me go through it, but can you imagine how much more frustrating it is to actually go through it?” Davis said.dddddddddddd. “At the same time, we still have a lot of baseball left to play and I know Im going to get an opportunity to come out of it. I know Ill come out of it.” Nothing hes tried to reverse the trend has worked, and Davis acknowledged that he hasnt a clue what to do next. “Im not really feeling a whole lot at the plate right now other than frustration,” he said. A year ago, Davis was so sharp at the plate that almost every swing produced results. This year, not so much. “When youre hitting .330, it feels like you hit every hole, every pitch you take is a ball,” he said. “When youre hitting just over .200, it feels like every pitch you take is a strike and every time you hit a ball hard somebody is standing there.” Teammate Adam Jones suggested that a bloop hit, and not a tape-measure home run, could be the cure. “He might need to get jammed, bad jammed, and he hits it on the label right above his fingers and it falls for a base hit,” Jones said. “He might figure it out from there.” Showalter said Davis would start Tuesday, and the manager was optimistic that his first baseman will soon get back on track. “Hes close,” Showalter said. “I have a lot of confidence it will pick up as the season goes.” Wholesale Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Authentic Jerseys From China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys ‘ ‘ ‘

MONTREAL – With stars of the past like Ben Cahoon and Uzooma Okeke in the house, the Montreal Alouettes looked a little like the CFL East powerhouse they used to be.Jonathan Crompton, who is starting to find his range at quarterback, threw touchdown passes to James Rodgers and Duran Carter as the Alouettes ended the injury depleted Calgary Stampeders six-game winning run with a 31-15 victory in the Hall of Fame game on Sunday. The victory allowed Montreal (4-8) to keep pace with Hamilton and Toronto atop the woeful CFL East Division with four wins. The race is tight, but we have to focus on ourselves, said Crompton, now 3-1 as a starter, including 3-0 at home, since taking over from injured Troy Smith. We control our own destiny.Crompton completed 20 of 28 passes for 220 yards and two TDs, and wasnt intercepted. It was perhaps Montreals best game of the season. They had no turnovers, took only five penalties and dominated time of possession at 36:54It comes with game experience, Carter said of Crompton. Working with us, throwing with us, and getting in a groove. We didnt have a whole training camp to work with him. Now, were just scratching the surface on what we can do.We feel were a good team and our record doesnt show it. Its our first time playing a complete football game. Weve got a lot of talent and, when we play a good game, this is what happens.Back-up quarterback Tanner Marsh also ran in a TD and Sean Whyte booted three field goals.Drew Tate, starting for the injured Bo Levi Mitchell, ran in a pair of TDs for Calgary (10-2).Calgary was also without star running back Jon Cornish, top receiver Marquay McDaniel and rush end Charleston Hughes. All four were hurt in a comeback win last week over Toronto. The Stamps erased a 15-1 Montreal lead to tie the game early in the second half, but the offence stalled and then coughed up turnovers on three consecutive possessions in the fourth quarter. Tate went 15-for-30 for 152 yards and was picked off once.Drew was like the rest of the team, he needs to play better, said Stampeders coach John Hufnagel. Im not pinning anything on Drew, but on offence, we needed to do a lot of things better. It was a combination of Montreal playing good defence and us not doing the things we need to do.As for the injuries to key players, Hufnagel said: Were not going to use that as an excuse. We needed to make plays with the people that were here.In Cornishs absence, Canadian Matt Walter rushed 13 times for an impressive 88 yards. The Stampeders ended a string of nine straight wins over Eastern teams. It was their first loss in six away games this season. The game featured a halftime presentation of the seven new members of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, with the biggest cheers for ex-Alouettes Cahoon, Okeke and Wally Buono (now GM in B.C.), as well as Charles Roberts, Neil Lumsden, Moe Racine and former university coach Larry Haylor. They were inducted at a Saturday night gala. The Alouettes took a 15-8 halftime lead, but were up against a team that roared back after a weak first half last week against Toronto. After a scoreless first quarter, Marsh scored from the one after Cromptons 22-yard completion to Carter highlighted a nine-play 65-yard drive 1:06 into the second. The teams exchanged punt singles before another drive ended with Rodgers 18-yard catch-and-run TD at 10:20.Tate found his passing range on the final drive of the half, and finished it himself with a one-yard plunge at 14:37.Calgary tied it on their first possession of the second half, as a 39-yard strike to Maurice Price set up Tates six-yard TD score on a quarterback draw.Crompton answered with a pair of scoring drives, one ending with an 18-yard Whyte field goal late in the third quarter and the other on Carters 10-yard catch over the middle 3:21 into the fourth.Geoff Tisdales interception set up Whytes 34-yard kick at 7:07. Walter fumbled on Calgarys next possession and Whyte was good from 27 yards. Then Tate fumbled. Alan-Michael Cash recovered both loose balls.Montreals defence was smarting from a loss last week in Edmonton in which it gave up 200 yards in the fourth quarter to waste a lead. Cash said they were determined not to let it happen again. It was a statement, said Cash. We watched film of the last game.We know we didnt perform in the fourth and we wanted to come out and do all we could not to blow it again. The team has a short turnaround before a game Friday night against the expansion Redblacks in Ottawa. The Stampeders return home to face B.C., the only other team to beat them this season, losing 25-24 to the Lions in Calgary on Aug. 1.The Alouettes lost defensive tackle Michael Klassen to a dislocated elbow in the second half.Notes a€” Montreal ended a seven-game losing streak to Western clubs. . . MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact have promoted midfielder Jeremy Gagnon-Lapare from their academy to the Major League Soccer club. The team announced Thursday that the 19-year-old midfielder signed as a “home grown” player. The Sherbrooke, Que., native played five games in the developmental league and twice started reserve league games this season. He also played a game for the Impact on May 7 in Edmonton in a semi-final of the Amway Canadian Championship. Gagnon-Lapare has four appearances with Canadas national team, including friendly matches against Bulgaria and Moldova in Austria in May. He is the sixth academy player to sign with the MLS club after defenders Karl Ouimette, Maxim Tissot and Wandrille Lefevre, goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, and midfielder Zakaria Messoudi. Mohamed Diame put West Ham ahead in the 47th minute before goals by substitutes Carlton Cole and Joe Cole condemned Fulham to a fifth straight defeat, keeping the visitors in the bottom three. Its been more than a year and a half since Canadas mens soccer team tasted victory. Too long for Benito Floro. So while Canadas pair of friendlies against Bulgaria and Moldova in Austria are a continuation of the coachs plan to bring young players into the Canadian team fold, theyre also very much about winning. “We need to win because it is very important for us to improve our psychology and mentality,” Floro said Thursday from Laa an der Thaya, Austria, where the team has been based. “For us, they are two games that are very important.” Canada — 110th in the FIFA rankings — faces No. 73 Bulgaria on Friday in Ritzing then meets 99th-ranked Moldova in Mauer on Tuesday. The Canadians went a woeful 0-13 last year, and scored just one goal — by Marcus Haber — in a 2-1 loss to Japan. Their last victory came in October 2012, a 3-0 win in World Cup qualifying against a Cuban side that dressed just 11 players (several Cubans left the team before the game kicked off in Toronto). “Were longing for a win,” Atiba Hutchinson said. “Its been a while so I think were motivated enough to get that. We just have to go out and work as we always do and hopefully well be a bit more fortunate with getting that result, but well have that working spirit.” Floro summoned a mix of veterans such as Hutchinson and Julian de Guzman and promising young players including Caleb Clarke, Samuel Piette, Daniel Stanese and Cyle Larin for these friendlies. Eight of the Canadians have yet to make their national senior debut, as Floro focuses on developing younger players one year out from the next CONCACAF Gold Cup and the resumption of World Cup qualifying. “The objective is the samee for every camp: to prepare players on our system of play because we need to improve our level in attack and defence.dddddddddddd At the same time, we want to take the young players because the experienced players are good at teaching them how to work as an individual and in a collective,” Floro said. “For the young players, this is a very good experience because our experienced players are very good people and they are always focused on teaching the young players how to do things in a good way.” Floro is counting on players such as the 31-year-old Hutchinson, who plays professionally in Turkey, to help bring the younger ones along. “Were developing well and mixing some younger players is going to help us,” Hutchinson said. “Its going to take some time to jell a little bit more but I think were trying to go in the right direction.” On a team that sorely needs goal scoring, eyes will be on the six-foot-two Larin in these two friendlies. The 19-year-old from Brampton, Ont., earned conference rookie of the years honours after scoring a team-high 14 goals for the University of Connecticut. “We brought Larin into the Florida camp (in January) because we had a very good reference and we want to test him because hes a striker and we need a lot of players in this position,” Floro said. “In that camp, we realized he is a young player but with good experience playing as a striker. He has a good desire to learn a lot about that and for us he is a good player for the present and the future.” Canadas roster is comprised mostly of European-based players. Among the other veterans on the squad are Andre Hainault, David Edgar, Tosaint Ricketts and Simeon Jackson. Cheap NFL Jerseys China ‘ ‘ ‘

FRISCO, Texas – Fabian Castillo, Je-Vaughn Watson and Michel scored in a 15-minute span of the second half Saturday night to keep FC Dallas unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over Chivas USA. Dallas (2-0-1) sits atop the Western Conference with an MLS-best seven points. Castillo opened the scoring in the 71st minute off a Mauro Diaz set piece, and Watson outran defender Tony Lochhead on a long ball and then juked goalkeeper Ian Kennedy for the eventual game-winner in the 78th minute. “We have a good team,” Watson said. “The guys are running really hard. To get three goals so fast was like a reward because we had them on the back foot from the get-go of the game. I think the guys came out in the second half and decided we were going to go for the kill.” Chivas forward Erick Torres grabbed his third goal of the season in the 81st minute to put the pressure back on the hosts, but Michel, a second-half substitute, slotted in a low, left-footed free kick in the 86th and Chivas (1-1-1) lost for the first time this season. Each team had 10 shots, but Dallas had nearly 60 per cent of the possession. “When you make those mistakes on set pieces and concentration, you dont deserve (points),” Chivas coach Wilmer Cabrera said. “You have to get punished in order for us to improve because weve been working — set pieces — weve been working on that, and today we lost concentration and then we got punished.” Dallas midfielder Andrew Jacobson left the game in the 67th minute with what coach Oscar Pareja said was an “extreme” left ankle injury. Jacobson was on crutches after the game in the Dallas locker room. Jacobson, who came on in the 11th minute after Andrew Moffat tweaked a muscle in his left leg, hurt his ankle going for the ball and getting tangled with a Chivas player near midfield. Chivas Oswaldo Minda was replaced in first-half stoppage time with a right-leg injury that will be evaluated when the team gets home. Castillos strike came from a set piece that Diaz snapped into the box from 36 yards out. Veteran Honduran midfielder Hendry Thomas received the ball and headed it toward Castillo about 6 yards out, and Castillo swept it off Kennedys outstretched hand for the opener. Kennedy kept Chivas in the game in the first half when he saved a 30th-minute, point-blank header from Blas Perez, pushing the shot off the line to keep the game square. Both teams then started fouling more aggressively in the midfield and four yellow cards were shown in the final 15 minutes of the half, including three to Chivas players. The visitors picked up two more yellow cards in the second half, and Thomas earned an ejection during stoppage time. Ed Davis Jersey. The Hornets will try to prevail in the 48 minutes allotted Saturday versus the Memphis Grizzlies at Time Warner Cable Arena. Charlotte recorded a 108-106 overtime triumph versus the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday and was led by Kemba Walkers 26 points. Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist registered 19 and 17 points, respectively, while Al Jefferson posted 14 and 10 rebounds. Jefferson recorded a double-double for a 10th straight regular-season game dating back to last season. Walker hit the game-tying 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds to go in regulation. His basket with 5.1 seconds left in overtime was the difference. Lance Stephenson made his Hornets debut and had seven points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Charlotte shot 40.6 percent for the game and made only 6-of-21 3-pointers. It rallied in the fourth quarter by scoring 32 points to Milwaukees 17 and had an 8-6 edge in OT. To be honest, I think (Milwaukee) played a lot better than we did, Hornets head coach Steve Clifford said of his teams 24-point turnaround. I did like the fact that when the game was on the line in the fourth quarter, at the end of the third and in overtime, we really tried hard to guard and we did a lot better. And guys made big plays. Charlotte improved to 9-1 over the last 10 regular-season games dating back to last seasoon, including a five-game win streak from March 31-April 9.dddddddddddd. The Hornets will play six of the next eight games on the road after Saturday. Memphis improved to 2-0 in this young campaign with a 97-89 victory Friday night over the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Grizz won the battle of two of the NBAs elite defenses from last season with, you guessed it, defense. It was all defense for us, guard Mike Conley said. The defense got the stops that we needed them to and we got out in transition to get some easy buckets. The Pacers shot respectable percentages from the field, but the Grizzlies put the game away with a 33-14 third-quarter scoring differential. Memphis went on a 26-2 run during that pivotal 12-minute stretch. We played with a lot more aggressiveness in the second half so they werent able to get up as many shots and get up by as many points in the second half, noted Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger. Zach Randolph scored 22 points with 13 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies. Marc Gasol, coming off a career-high 32 points in Memphis season-opening win over Minnesota, deposited 20 points with six rebounds. Conley added 17 points in the win. Guard Courtney Lee suffered a mild concussion in the first half and his availability for Saturday is unknown. Memphis and Charlotte split two meetings last season. These two teams have split the 10 meetings at Charlotte and will meet again on Dec. 12 in Memphis. Cheap NFL Jerseys China ‘ ‘ ‘

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Panthers announced theyve signed unrestricted free agent safety Roman Harper from the New Orleans Saints to a two-year contract. Financial terms were not released Tuesday. Harper, 31, is expected to replace starter Mike Mitchell, who signed a free agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this off-season. Harper has been a mainstay at safety in New Orleans for the past eight seasons starting 104 games. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2009 and 2010. However, injuries limited him to five games in 2013. The Panthers like to use their safeties to blitz the quarterback and Harper has proven capable of doing just that during his career. Hamilton was .0213 slower. Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari was third, about half a second behind Rosberg. The Mercedes drivers are the only two vying for the Formula One title. Hamilton leads Rosberg by 24 points with 75 available going into the last two races. The title will not be decided in Brazil as the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi will be worth double points. Hamilton can win his second world title with consecutive second-place finishes or a third in Brazil and a second in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 23.As they did for most of the season, the Mercedes drivers led throughout the practice sessions, which were run under dry conditions at Interlagos. It was a very normal day for us, Rosberg said. Sebastian Vettel, who at one point said there were some serious problems with his car, ended ninth.McLarens Jenson Button, still uncertain about his future in F1 next season, had mechanical problems and was the only driver without a timed lap in the first session. He was only 16th in the second. There will be only 18 cars again on the grid this weekend as Marussia and Caterham continue to deal with financial problems. Marussia was shut down on Friday and Caterham launched a crowdfunding project to ease its financial difficulties and return to the grid for the final grand prix.Hamilton is going for his sixth win in a row and 11th in the season, both of which would be a first for a British driver. Rosberg has four victories. Neither driver has won in Brazil.Mercedes has placed 1-2 in 10 of the 17 races this year, and clinched the constructors championship with three races to spare. It has 14 victories between the two drivers, one short of the season record shared by Ferrari and McLaren. The 4.3-kilometre counterclockwise (2.6 mile) Interlagos track has new runoff areas and a new pit entrance and pit exit, all added to improve safety.___Follow Tales Azzoni at http://twitter.com/tazzoni Cheap NFL Jerseys China ‘ ‘ ‘

TORONTO — The Ontario government is honouring the late Sarah Burke by dedicating a highway to the freestyle skiing pioneer. Highway 93 will be known as the Sarah Burke Memorial Highway. The road runs for 24 kilometres through Simcoe County, the region where Burke was born and raised. “Thats a great idea,” said Chloe Dufour-Lapointe, Canadas silver medallist in freestyle moguls at the Sochi Olympics. “She was such a great skier, everything that you heard about her was only positive, a girl who smiles.” “A perfect inspiration for young girls,” added Chloes sister Justine, who won moguls gold in Sochi. The 29-year-old Burke, who was born in Barrie, Ont., and grew up in Midland, died after a training accident in Utah in January 2012. Burke was a four-time X Games champion and a driving force behind the inclusion of halfpipe and slopestyle in the Olympics. The events made their Olympic debut last month in Sochi. “The Sarah Burke Memorial Highway will provide a lasting reminder of her accomplishments,” Premier Kathleen Wynne said Wednesday. Burkes teammates honoured her in Sochi by spreading her ashes on the Olympic halfpipe, high on a mountain above it and near the Olympic rings in the athletes village. Mikael Kingsbury, who won a silver moguls medal for Canada in Sochi, called the highway dedication “very cool.” “She was an awesome woman,” he said. “I had the chance to meet her the summer before she passed away. Instead of sulking, he went straight to the gym after the Pacers arrived back home in the wee hours of the morning. That work ethic has paid off. George scored 23 points to go with four rebounds and two assists, and the NBA-leading Pacers built a big lead before holding off the Warriors 102-94 Monday night for their fifth straight win. “That game changed everything, for our franchise and for him,” Pacers coach Frank Vogel said, recalling the 103-92 loss at Golden State on Dec. 1, 2012. “It forced him to change his approach.” George has emerged as an MVP candidate this season, and his Indiana teammates are improving just as rapidly. The Pacers (33-7) went ahead by 20 in the third quarter, watched the Warriors whittle the lead to two and then regrouped in the closing minutes to open the five-game West Coast trip with a victory. Roy Hibbert had 14 points and 13 rebounds, David West added 17 points and Lance Stephenson finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists to help the Pacers pull away for good. “I felt good coming off screens, dribbling the ball and hitting some shots,” said George, who made 9 of 20 from the floor. “Its just tough running around with those guys and still having legs to make shots at the end. Thats really what the toughness was.” Stephen Curry had 24 points and nine assists, and David Lee had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the streaky Warriors, who have lost four of six since winning 10 in a row. Indiana outshot the Warriors 45.1 to 40.7 per cent and outrebounded them 52 to 45. Both teams committed 15 turnovers. “Were right there as a team that has the potential to do some great things this year if we can figure that last, little bit of consistency out,” Curry said. “Weve shown in spots we have the talent to do it, we just have to find that last little piece of assertiveness against the best teams in the league.” Golden State made the Pacers work for the win. After going down by 20 in the third quarter, Harrison Barnes hit a 3-pointer to slice Indianas lead to 79-77 early in the fourth. The Pacers pulled away by eight before the Warriors roareed back within three on Lees free throws.dddddddddddd Stephenson answered with a 3-pointer to put the Pacers up 94-87. Klay Thompson followed with swish from long range, then George Hill hit another from beyond the arc to keep Indiana in control. “It was like the movie Rocky II. Im not sure which guy was going to fall first. Both teams were completely exhausted,” Vogel said. The Warriors final push ended almost as quickly as it started. Andre Iguodala made a fadeaway to trim Indianas lead to 98-94 with less than a minute left. After Iguodala stole the ball from Hill, Curry missed a contested 3-pointer short, and the Pacers put the game away on free throws. “Were close, but we still have work to do,” said Warriors centre Andrew Bogut, who had 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Warriors entered the night having played an NBA-high 25 road games compared to 17 at home. The game began a string of five straight and nine of 11 at Oracle Arena, though Golden States home court provided little comfort against the NBAs best. Sparked by its defence and work-to-get-a-good-shot approach, Indiana opened a 35-21 lead at the end of the first quarter. Golden State switched to a smaller lineup to try and outrun the Pacers, who instead exploited their size inside. After going ahead by 16 points late in the second quarter, Indiana let the Warriors creep closer thanks to a series of turnovers. The Pacers led 53-40 at the half. Indiana came out of the break just like it did to start the game, scoring the first seven of the third quarter to take a 60-40 lead that silenced most of the announced sellout crowd of 19,596. But Curry and Co. quickly had fans on their feet and to a fever pitch after a timeout. Curry hit a jumper, then tossed an alley-oop to Bogut before Thompsons 3-pointer started a run that brought the Warriors within eight heading to the frantic fourth quarter. NOTES: Warriors coach Mark Jackson said it was an honour to play on the holiday honouring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. “Im not sitting here if he didnt have a dream and he didnt fight for that dream the right way,” Jackson said. … The Warriors havent won a series against the Pacers since the 2000-01 season. … Indiana hosts Golden State on March 4 in the teams only other meeting this season. NOTTINGHAM, England — After seven years in international football coaching, former England defender Stuart Pearce is returning to club management after agreeing to take charge of his old team Nottingham Forest from July 1. Pearce played for Forest from 1985-97 and enjoys cult status at the City Ground, where he picked up the nickname “Psycho” for his tough-tackling approach that made him a fan favourite. Forest, a two-time European champion, is currently seventh in Englands second-tier League Championship — two points outside the playoffs as it seeks a return to the Premier League for the first time since 1999. Pearce, who succeeds the fired Billy Davies, was Englands under-21 coach from 2007-13 and also spent time as assistant coach of the countrys senior team and managed Britain at the London Olympics in 2012. Lions visit the Ottawa Redblacks, almost a full year after injuring his throwing shoulder last September. Watch the game live on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4, TSN5 and on TSN GO tonight at 7pm et/4pm pt. You can also listen to the game on TEAM 1040 in Vancouver and TSN Radio 1200 in Ottawa. It was hoped Lulay would be healthy in time for training camp after undergoing off-season surgery, but he instead takes charge nine games into a campaign that has seen the Lions wobble to 5-4 record in the CFLs ultra-competitive West Division. “Im excited. This is why you play the game – to have an opportunity to play,” Lulay said this week. “I dont take a minute of it for granted. If I learned anything during (the last year), it was that I feel fortunate to be able to do what I do. I just love being out here with the guys.” Lulay said going on the six-game injured list at the start of the regular season gave him a chance to refocus, and it was towards the end of that period when he finally started to feel like he was getting back to normal. “I knew it was a process … I didnt know exactly when that process would come to an end,” he said. “I do feel confident in my ability to play well. “There was so much unknown going into (training) camp, knowing there was a chance that I may be ready early (and) knowing there was a chance it might take a while into the season.” Lulay has dressed the last three games as a backup — seeing action late in the last two — and with the team coming off a bye week, head coach Mike Benevides felt the time was right for the 30-year-old to take over from Kevin Glenn. “Hes as good as Ive seen him in a long, long time … a long, long time,” Benevides said of Lulay. “Hes not going to be as smooth as he wants to be a month from now, but he looks as good as Ive seen in a long time.” Lulays return comes at a critical juncture for B.C., which has been consistently inconsistent so far in 2014. The Lions have road victories over the Calgary Stampeders (8-1) and Saskatchewan Roughriders (7-2), but are an uncharacteristic 2-3 at home. Giving the Lions a much-needed boost in a variety of areas is Stefan Logan, who is leading the league with 1,264 combined yards, the only player in the CFL with more than 1,000 yards in that department.dddddddddddd Defensively, the Lions are still paced by Solomon Elimimian who, despite leaving early a couple weeks ago, still paces the league in tackles with 74, 26 more than Ottawas Jasper Simmons who is second on the list. Elimimian practiced on Wednesday and will start tonight. The Redblacks, all alone in last place in the dismal East Division where not one of the four inhabitants has even a .500 record, have just one win in nine tries to this point and that came by only a single point against visiting Toronto back on July 18 (18-17). Since then it has been a downhill run for Ottawa, losing most recently to a woeful Montreal group on the road in Week 10, 20-10. In that game, the Redblacks actually scored the first points of the contest, a 30-yard field goal by Brett Maher, but from there the team was held scoreless until the final frame when Henry Burris hooked up with Wallace Miles on a 28- yard TD pass play. Burris, who recently moved up the CFLs all-time passing list, finished the contest 21-of-34 for 245 yards, shaking off three sacks along the way. The signal caller was one of two players credited with rushing attempts for the Redblacks as he posted eight runs for 29 yards, two less than Chevon Walker who carried the ball seven times. Miles managed to pull down seven passes for a 101 yards, but even that effort was not enough to offset a staggering 16 penalties for a loss of 135 yards in the outing. The Redblacks continue to bring up the rear in terms of scoring this season with only 15.1 ppg, the team generating just 294.6 ypg which is second-lowest in the CFL after 10 weeks of action. On the defensive side of the ball, there is no team as lenient as Ottawa, with the squad giving up a hefty 412.8 ypg, close to 80 ypg more than the closest competitor (Montreal). As far as an all-time series is concerned, British Columbia is on top by a count of 39-18-2, taking into consideration only regular-season meetings dating back to 1961. The most recent matchup between the Lions and a team representing the city of Ottawa was back on Sept. 8, 2005 when BC hammered the opposition, 61-27, on the road. The Lions, who are set to host Ottawa on Oct. 11, have won nine consecutive meetings and 14 of the last 15 overall. Cheap NFL Jerseys China ‘ ‘ ‘

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — FIFA President Sepp Blatter says the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should be pushed back to autumn rather than moved up to winter. Blatter said FIFA officials and others “are starting now the consultations” on whether to move the World Cup from its traditional June-July slot to avoid summer heat in the Gulf, a decision that could drag into 2015. “And when I say winter, I mean it can only be November and December,” he told reporters in Abu Dhabi on Friday before the final of the Under-17 World Cup. “It can no way be January or February.” An IOC member, Blatter opposes the first two months of the year because it would clash with the 2022 Winter Olympics. An April-May option has been proposed by Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of the European Club Association, which will be consulted by FIFA. When Qatar hosted the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship for players under 20, the tournament was held in April. January is favoured by Michel Platini, president of the Union of European Football Associations and potentially Blatters rival in the next FIFA leadership election in 2015. Blatter is scheduled to travel to Qatar for the latest round of discussions on whether to hold the tournament outside the Gulf summer, when temperatures can reach 122 degrees. Organizers in Qatar claim their plans for air-conditioned stadiums and other cooling measures could allow them to fulfil the hosting promises made when bidding. Blatter will also discuss labour issues with the Emir in Qatar and is scheduled to hold a news conference on Saturday in Doha. Like other Gulf states, Qatar relies on migrant workers mostly from South Asia. Rights groups have long complained about abuses across the Gulf such as substandard living conditions and employers holding workers passports. Those who impressed in each of the three events were asked to attend the main CFL Combine which begins Friday in Toronto. TSNs Duane Forde gives his thoughts on this weeks regionals, who impressed and who to look out for in Toronto this weekend. EDMONTON – Twenty-one draft eligible players participated in Mondays Edmonton regional combine with five of them advancing to the national combine in Toronto. The most impressive among them was Simon Fraser receiver Tore Corrado. Having established himself more as a kick returner than as a receiver at the NCAA Division II-level, Corrados quickness is his greatest strength. His skill set gives him an opportunity to be an effective player on the bigger Canadian field. Corrados SFU teammate Dylan Roper turned scouts heads early in the day when he hoisted 225 lbs. 26 times. The defensive end clinched his trip to Toronto in the one-on-one drills, where his quickness off the edge and non-stop motor were evident. The Regina Rams also had two players promoted to the main combine in guard Kyle Paterson and defensive end Michael Dadzie. The latter hails from the athletic hotbed of Brampton, Ontario and, although he wasnt a full-time starter for the Rams, he possesses a combination of strength and speed that intrigues scouts. Paterson hopes to continue following in the footsteps of fellow Weyburn, Saskatchewan natives and U of R products Brendon LaBatte and Brett Jones. He topped the bench press test with 27 reps and was clearly the most athletic O-lineman in attendance. Rounding out the national combine invitees was rock solid Manitoba linebacker Thomas Miles, who tested well and brings an element of physical play to the table. My honourable mentions from the Edmonton regional go to scrappy Manitoba receiver Andrew Smith, who combines good leaping ability with a willingness to compete in the air for every ball, and Calgary kicker John Mark, who wasnt as accurate as usual, but hit the ball well on every field goal attempt. MONTREAL – There were twenty-seven draft eligible performers among the participants at Wednesdays Montreal regional combine, five of whom earned their way to the national event. Nigel Romick of Saint Marys distinguished himself in a very competitive defensive line group, testing very well across the board and showing great versatility by taking one-on-one reps at tackle, end and even linebacker. Sherbrooke receiver Francis Lapointe, one of the favourites among scouts entering the combine, lived up to his advance billing, running solid pass routes and tying for the fastest 40-yard dash of the day. Two running backs with very different skill sets will also be moving on to the national stage. Bruising fullback Alexandre Dupuis of the Montreal Carabins came back last fall from injuries to both knees that had wiped out his 2012 campaign and continued to impress with his work ethic and toughness.dddddddddddd Meanwhile, Lavals shifty Guillaume Bourassa, who has always had to share time in the crowded Rouge et Or backfield, shone as both a receiver and blocker. Performing on the Concordia University field that he has called home for the last four years, Stingers linebacker Travis Bent also punched his ticket to Toronto. The native of Ajax, Ontario was one of the most heavily recruited players in this class coming out of high school. A number of other players also caught my eye in Montreal, led by Mount Allisons Quinn Everett, who shows good potential as an O-lineman after spending the last four years on the defensive side. Defensive linemen Vincent Desloges (Laval), Shaquille Armstrong (Concordia) and Sanmi Adereti (St.FX) all had their moments, as did receivers Nathan Heather and Mike Harrington, while McGill DB Mattey Ossom and Bishops LB Omar Smith-Jackson displayed outstanding athleticism. TORONTO – On Thursday, Toronto was home to the third and final regional combine with 25 draft eligible prospects on hand. Four would ultimately earn promotions to this weekends national combine, led by former St.FX defensive back Raye Hartmann. An AUS All-Star in 2011, Hartmann had sat out the last two seasons, but showed absolutely no signs of rust as the 62″ Mississauga, Ontario native was dominant in pass coverage and excelled in testing. Big Queens receiver Scott MacDonell was equally impressive, using his 65″, 225 lbs. frame to his advantage in one-on-ones. He runs well for his size and could certainly contribute at the next leavel with most teams, at least occasionally, employing a tight end package. The day got off to a bit of a rough start for Toronto running back Aaron Milton, when he raised some eyebrows by declining to do the bench press test, later citing a shoulder injury. The big back more than made up for it on the field, showing both explosiveness as a ball carrier and receiver, as well as a willingness to get his nose dirty in blocking drills. High-energy defensive end James Tuck of the York Lions snagged the other invitation, combining an impressive level of athleticism with an even more impressive effort level. Winnipeg-born, Texas-raised offensive lineman Tchissakid Player of Northwestern State was a virtual lock to claim a spot at the main combine until a pulled hamstring ruled him out. Strong-legged kicker Zack Medeiros (Western), waterbug receiver Quincy Van De Cruize (Bishops), and hard-working Guelph defensive tackle Jeffery Finley were among several who didnt advance but likely still helped their stock on Friday. Anaheim held a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes and pushed the cushion to 3-1 after Andrew Coglianos short-handed goal at 5:09 of the third period. Ryan Garbutt cut the deficit back to one for Dallas less than five minutes later, but that would be the final goal of the game. Ryan Getzlaf posted a goal and an assist for the Ducks one game after suffering a nasty facial injury. Getzlaf was hit in the face by a puck shot off the stick of Tyler Seguin in the closing seconds of Game 1 and suffered a deep facial laceration. He required multiple stitches to close the cut and wore a shield to protecct the lower part of his face on Friday.dddddddddddd Hours after he suffered the injury in the opener, Getzlaf was at his wifes side for the birth of the couples daughter, Willa. “Every once in a while, you need your best players to step it up when the rest of the guys lose their composure,” said Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau. “Getzy, with whats happened to him in the last three days, to come in and get two points and a plus-3 rating, is a sure reason why hes hopefully nominated for the MVP.” Corey Perry joined Getzlaf and Cogliano as the goal-scorers, snapping a 10- game postseason goal-scoring drought. It was Perrys first goal in the playoffs since scoring against Nashville on April 20, 2011. In addition to Garbutts goal, Alex Chiasson also scored for the Stars. Kari Lehtonen give up three goals on 19 shots in the loss. “Every game is important from here on out,” said Garbutt. “If we take care of business at home, we are going to be fine.” Anaheim played Friday without forward Matt Beleskey, who is dealing with a lower-body injury. Beleskey will travel with the team to Dallas, but is questionable for Game 3. Dallas defenseman Brenden Dillon has sat out the first two games with a lower- body issue and is not expected to play on Monday. This series marks the third all-time playoff meeting between these clubs and first since the Stars bested the Ducks in six games during the 2008 Western Conference quarterfinals. Maria Silvia Bastos Marques, president of the EOM (Municipal Olympic Company), will be leaving her post but will remain as an advisor, a city hall statement said Tuesday. She will be replaced by Joaquim Monteiro, who works for the city government as a marketing specialist. The resignation comes almost two weeks after IOC inspectors urged Rio organizers and government representatives to finalize budget decisions about who pays for what for the 2016 Olympics. The Rio Games have been plagued by delays, partially centred on budget and planning problems among Brazils three levels of government. Brazil is spending about $15 billion on the games, a mix of private and public money, and faces pressure to rein in spending — or be seen to be doing so. In a similar move six months ago, an army general took over the Olympic Public Authority, which co-ordinates planning between various layers of Brazilian government. Speaking to Rio officials at the end of an inspection tour two weeks ago, a top IOC official warned of the need to finalize planning. “At one point … they have to decide who iis doing what,” said Gilbert Felli, the IOCs executive director of the Olympic Games.dddddddddddd “At some point they have to take decisions, otherwise the project cannot go forward.” A meeting announced for last week to deal with Olympic spending, which was to have included officials from the office of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, did not take place as scheduled. At least two major projects are behind schedule: the second largest cluster of venues called Deodoro, and the Olympic golf course. Work has yet to begin at Deodoro. Nawal El Moutawakel, head of the inspection team, said “until ground is broken, Deodoro remains a project under intense pressure.” Last week the president of the International Golf Federation, Peter Dawson, said he was disappointed with slow progress on the golf course. Golf returns to the 2016 Olympics for the first time since 1904 in St. Louis. “Rio has got quite a few challenges ahead of them to get things done in time,” Dawson said. “We are new to the Olympic Games. Maybe this is normal. However, I think its particularly disappointing given how long ago we got in among this and got things started.” Cheap NFL Jerseys China ‘ ‘ ‘
